You have the nagging feeling that it would be very prudent to lay an egg

As you take a moment to rest after a long walk, you consider the prudence of laying an egg.

While you can start the process on command, it would take a bit before the egg developed, and by then you'd ideally want to find a mate. Afterward, something very painful would happen, and you'd have an egg.
You could do without a mate, but it sounds like a waste of nutrients.

All this knowledge is ingrained in your reptilian brain, of course.

Anyhow, you got distracted and seem to be somewhat LOST.

Logically, if you've been going south, the manor gate is probably now to your north. Look down each road and maybe smell the wind to see if there's anything identifiable nearby besides miles of dirt road.

We can find a mate when its ready, simple right?

Looking down each road doesn't give you much information, so you attempt to catch any possible scents in the air. The breeze isn't particularly helpful, but this is what you could gather.
The top path seems bushlike and has sweaty scent.
The lower path looks very treeful; it carries a strange but weak blend of smells.
The left path looks rocksome; it smells metallic.
The right path looks squishy-sploshy and stinks of fish.

Can Argonians sweat?

You shed your scales and secrete natural oils that can become incredibly rancid over time. Some of your kind consider it a form of sweating.

Oh, right, you also start the process of egg.
