Has the master ever touched you?

Of course not, the master has people for that.

He's quite reclusive and wealthy. Dozens, if not hundreds, work under him, and you've heard through gossip he's quite influential in regional affairs, whatever that means.
If you skimped on your tasks, you would be hit with dead snakes, and if you worked diligently, you would be fed. You considered it fair, but due to a bout of extreme sickness caused by eating random things off the ground after you were hit with snakes instead of being fed, the situation spiraled until you were made to work on the interior of the estate.

Cleaning was simpler, less strenuous, and usually required less contact with others. It doesn't mean you haven't gotten in your fair share of trouble, but you like it better than being made to work under the rain, at least.

Fuck this cave, let's get out of here before we get bit and turned into skeleton ourselves.

Anyhow, you made your way back to the entrance of the mine without a problem.
