Recheck your inventory. Aside from the bucket you should still have a paper and a flag (stick with towel tied to it).

Also check inventory
You are currently carrying:
WET FLAG OF SURRENDER
Wet Metal Bucket (Equipped)
Crumbly Soggy Rolled Paper

FUUUUUUUCK THAT PAPER WAS IMPORTANT
Uuuuuuuuuh, put it somewhere dry, safe and non-crumbly prone
Can we have it dry in the sun??
The kind man who gave it to us doesnt use flimsy papers that break easily right? RIGHT?

Try to dry the bucket too, it's most useful dry unless we're going to transport water somewhere.
After that, check the posters or go inside the building.

Now that the kid is gone, check the posters, barrel, and maybe take his red weapon from the ground if you can carry it in your bucket.
You aren't sure if all the papers your master uses are crumbly and floppy, but for some reason, this one is.
You manage to spread it over a large rock and leave it there for now.
After unequipping the bucket, you shake it around, blow into it, and, after verifying its inside is damp, pick up the RED ARTIFACT, storing it inside.
When you check the barrel, you find an assortment of unusually colored rocks, a bottle, and some meager treasure.
In front of the barrel is a poster: a portrait of a cute cat man beneath big, bold squiggles. He looks very happy about the situation.
